Working together for a more responsible tourism
RTA is an independent platform where tour operators and travellers use the same language. You tell your story. Your guests share what matters to them and how the trip felt. Everyone sees where things line up—and where they can get better.
Why we built this
Responsible tourism only works when it’s clear what “responsible” means and when both sides can compare notes. RTA gives you a simple way to describe your tours, see how your view matches your guests’ expectations and experiences, and spot what to improve. You’re here because you want to do better—and because you know your guests’ opinions count.
What you can do with RTA
Showcase
Show what makes each tour responsible. See how your view stacks up against your guests’ feedback so you can stand out and improve where it matters.
Evaluate
Compare what you think about your sustainability with what your guests expect and experience. Our guidelines help you rate honestly and stay on the same page.
Monitor
Dig into your results by tour, age, gender, or nationality. Get alerts when a tour scores poorly and use your dashboard to see what to focus on next.
One shared language: 16 indicators
We use 16 indicators in four areas—environmental, social, economic and conservation—so you and your guests are talking about the same things. Before the trip we ask what matters to them; after, we ask how the tour did. You get a clear picture of where you’re aligned and where to act. The system is built so you can be honest (and your guests will have their say too), without overselling or underselling what you do.
For operators and travellers
Operators register, add their tours, and share two links with guests: one before the trip (what matters to you?) and one after (how did we do?). Guests answer short questions; their answers show up in your dashboard. No one does it alone—better tourism comes from being open, listening, and using the same 16 indicators so feedback is useful.
